In 1999, 13 Lufthansa employees founded help alliance as an association to bundle and better coordinate the voluntary commitment of many individual colleagues. Since 2017, help alliance has been a non-profit limited liability company (gGmbH) and forms the umbrella for the entire social commitment of the group. It promotes more than 60 projects worldwide that enable children, adolescents and young adults to access education and work. In doing so, it creates future prospects for young people and enables them to lead a self-determined life with dignity.

Each funded project is a heartfelt matter of Lufthansa Group employees. help alliance carefully selects the funded projects, pays attention to sustainability and impact measurement. Through collaboration with competent local partners who have many years of experience in development cooperation and are well acquainted with the conditions in the country and, above all, the needs of the people, it is ensured that the donations are used sensibly and reach their target accurately. In addition, help alliance project managers closely monitor the projects, maintain direct contact with the teams, and are regularly on site to personally follow up on the implementation and progress of the project and the use of donations.

Mission

We promote access to education and training and thus open up career prospects for young people to enable them to lead an independent life. Our work is based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Our unique strengths are the voluntary commitment of our employees and the power of the Lufthansa Group.
